Prosecutor Ewamari Haggkvist on Sunday requested that the court seek to keep the man in detention, pending prosecution. She said he has been arrested on suspicion of relation to genocide in Rwanda between April and July 1994, but wouldn’t give any more details.

Sweden has previously tried to extradite another man to Rwanda on genocide charges. The country’s Supreme Court, however, eventually freed that man due to the length of his detention. He had then been held for around three years.
