The theme of the conference is "Knowledge-based Industries and New Technologies".

It is being organized by the Secretariat of the Gulf Cooperation Council in collaboration with the Saudi Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Council of Saudi Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Riyadh Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Saudi Industrial Property Authority (MODON) and Federation of GCC Chambers.

"The conference aims to promote the transformation of GCC countries toward knowledge-based industrial production by highlighting the basic requirements needed and demonstrating examples of appropriate applications and models of successful knowledge-based experiments by some countries," said Faysal Alaquil, director of business development and official spokesman for CPC. "International industrial companies in the field will have an opportunity to exhibit their products at the accompanying exhibition."

Alaquil said CPC supports such major industrial activities in the Gulf in view of its 2012 expansion plans and the region's drive to increase industrial investment.

CPC is based in Jeddah with branches in Riyadh, Bahra, Abu Dhabi, Cairo, Doha, and soon in Algeria.
