King Abdullah recently issued the order with the aim of promoting the learning of Holy Qur’an by boys and girls in the country.

The Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Call, Endowment and Guidance will distribute the grants to the memorization societies in a function in Riyadh on Sunday. Minister of Islamic Affairs, Call, Endowment and Guidance Salah Al-Asheikh, who is chairman of the Higher Council of Charity Societies for Memorization of Holy Qur’an, will attend the function.

“The royal order is a material and moral support to those who strive to spread the learning of the Holy Qur’an. The Kingdom’s leaders spare no effort in the service of the Book of Allah, a fact illustrated by the many international and local competitions organized in the Kingdom for the Qur’an memorization,” President of the Qassim Charity Society for Qur’an Memorization Sheikh Sulaiman Al-Rabie said in a statement to the Saudi Press Agency on Friday.

Deputy President of the Hail Charity Society for Qur’an Memorization Sheikh Hamoud Al-Fedae said the grant was the largest aid received by the Qur’an memorization societies in the Kingdom.

“This grant is more significant as a moral support to us and makes us feel that the king is always with us in the service of the Holy Book,” Abdul Aziz Al-Hanfi, president of the Jeddah Khayrakum Society said, commending the royal gesture.
