Pilots of both planes parachuted safely to the ground, said the report, quoting a statement issued by the Defense Ministry.

Saturday's crash was the second for the Royal Saudi Air Force in the northwestern province in less than a month. An SPA report last December 22 said an air force Hawk jet on a training mission in Tabuk crashed after it collided with a bird.

The collision led to a malfunction in one of the jet's engines, forcing the pilot to eject from the aircraft, said the report.
