The JCCI announced through its social responsibility center that it wanted to reduce divorces in the Kingdom. The number of divorce has gone up dramatically in recent years. The number of spinsters will total three million within the next two years. The announcement was made on Sunday, during the Family Communication Reinforcement meeting 2012.

The reconciliatory workshops were established to help people through advice and training to overcome marital problems. Sulaiman Al-Ali, a consultant in abilities management and self-development, and Ibrahim Al-Khalifi, an associated professor in Kuwait University who specialized in raising children and self-development were involved in setting up the trainings.

Al-Khalifi stressed the importance of families and their role in the construction of a society that enhances the psychological settlement and mental health of children. He worried about the increasing number of divorces and men who avoided getting married. He noted that social circumstances change and that miscommunication between men and women affected marriages. Alternative techniques were needed to treat this, he said.

The meetings, organized by the social responsibility center, would strengthen communication and support families to be good and beneficial in society. This would consequently help to create a better society and stronger family relations, Al-Khalifi said.

At the meeting there were more programs dealing with crisis treatments, ways to overcome dilemmas and achieving skills that make married life more pleasant.

The program ‘Live your Life’ helps people achieve a happier, successful life by setting targets. ‘Changing negative powers into positive powers’ aims to help build a good marital life between balanced personalities that can achieve real success in life.
