The training is taking place at the Saudi Working Group companies of ALJ (Toshiba), Zagzoog (Fujitsu General), Ahmed Zainy Co. (Daikin), Olayan (Toshiba PC & Xerox), Modern Electronics (Sony), Alessa (Hitachi), United Matbouli (Samsung).

This OJT is SEHAI's original program for the "second year" grade students with the target of deep understanding of the practical working concept at their companies' service centers and showrooms.

They will learn more on ways of utilizing their basic skills and knowledge learnt in SEHAI.

A team of SEHAI instructors and Japanese experts visited the service centers in Jeddah, Makkah, Madinah, Jazan, Damman, Alkhobar, Hohuf, Taif, and of course, Riyadh to assess the progress made by the students.

In Riyadh, Toshikazu Tokioka, economic attache at the Japanese Embassy, visited the service centers of Alessa and Modern Electronics, accompanied by Japanese experts.

Tokioka appreciated the companies' well-organized efforts to receive SEHAI students and checked their attitudes to the work.

The checking criteria included punctuality, teamwork, attitude, appearance, English communication skills, work ethics, productivity, basic skills and knowledge, productivity etc. These are also regarded as common work ethics at Japanese workplaces.

He was also impressed to find a SEHAI graduate training the second batch students on repairing washing machines.

Alessa said: “This is the model of the cooperation between SEHAI and Saudi Working Group companies.”

SEHAI students will return to the institute as the fourth term begins in February.

They will now gain more insight into electronics, AC, home appliances and PC and office equipment with the knowledge they had gained so far in improving their own technical skills.

They understand the importance of repeating works of the basic technical skills and English studies, which they learnt as 'inevitable' skills in the OJT program.
