- STC Group's CEO Saud bin Majed Al-Daweesh has asserted that the group has, with great success, completed the introduction of the 4G services or LTE throughout the region's countries in which it is functioning.
It kept going ahead in the industry in the region by launching the services in Saudi Arabia, Kuwait as well as Bahrain.
Al-Daweesh pointed to the keenness of the group to develop the techniques of its networks across 10 countries.
To achieve its goals, STC is employing the best of highly qualified expertise backed by their technical supremacy, to provide clients with world-class sophisticated technologies.
The way to achieve that is by keeping the pace continuously with the new and innovative trends to meet the required rapid speeds needed by data and information transfer services.
In this regard, STC Group claims to be ahead of all, both in taking the advantage of the new technologies put on the market by the world industry, and the first in providing its customers with these services, immediately and ahead of all, alike.
It's to STC Group's credit, with an official confirmation made by the GSMA — the global organization for mobile systems, that it became the first operator in the region to launch G4 service, or 4G LTE, throughout MENA, on Dec. 12, 2011, and then other operators followed suit.
STC Group adopted G4 early in 2010 and announced the tests it made a success, terming 4G as the choice of a new forthcoming 'Epoch' in the mobile phone system.
This technology based on expanding the capacity and efficiency of the network, consequently impact the rapidity of virtual transfer up to a speed of 100Mbps, in case of data receiving.
STC Group began launching the service in 11 cities across the Kingdom in the last quarter of 2011.
