Ali Eid, president of Ericsson, took part in a panel discussion entitled "Is Saudi Ready?" which brought together leaders from across the regional telecoms industry to discuss the current telecom infrastructure. 

The panelists also discussed other key topics such as the evolution of the Saudi telecom sector to deliver the necessary technology, connectivity and quality services to customers moving forward.

"The Saudi market is one of the region's largest economies and is also becoming one of the fastest growing telecommunication markets," said Eid.

"The Kingdom has tremendous potential from an ICT perspective and events such as TELSA which bring industry leaders together allow us to connect with our partners and discuss ways in which we can contribute to the future growth of the industry."

In addition to the panel, Ericsson was also represented in three different discussion panels.

Andreas Krenn, head of market development mobile broadband, Ericsson MENA, region joined a debate on the post 3G evolution entitled "Debating the options for post 3G technology evolution: WiMAX, LTE, FTTH and HSPA."

Ahmed Seemab, regional head of market development, managed services practice, Middle East region, Ericsson, also took part in a discussion on delivering high value services and superior customer experience.

Andrea Petti, director of industry verticals, Ericsson MEA, took part in a workshop which gave in-depth information and strategies on the opportunities that telecommunications and ICT are opening up for senior telecoms executives in the oil, gas and industrial sector.
