The ambassador made the offer during his courtesy visit to Arab News’ editor-in-chief, Abdulwahab Al-Faiz on Wednesday. They discussed matters of mutual interest with special reference to the vibrant relations between the two countries. “We expressed our gratitude for the opportunity given to our workers and we look forward to doing more that would further cement our bilateral relations,” he said. Ambassador Tago is the first Philippine Arabic-speaking diplomat assigned to Saudi Arabia.

His visit to the Saudi Research and Marketing Group (SRMG), publisher of Arab News, reflects his long-standing relation with SRMG publications through its publishing arm, Saudi Research and Publishing Co. Tago first came here during the eighties as a student, while his father was a diplomat. On his part, Al-Faiz commended the Filipino expatriates’ remarkable contribution to the growth and development of the Saudi economy. “We as Saudis always admire the Filipinos for their hard work, professional competence and excellent communication skills in dealing with the people,” Al-Faiz said, adding that the Kingdom cannot do without the Filipino workers. Especially in the services sector, while OFWs at other levels have been manning technical jobs with dedication and strong commitment.

Arab News will invite various ambassadors at its headquarters in Riyadh for a discussion on how to further improve and strengthen relations between Saudi Arabia and their countries.
