The ranking issued by Corporate Knights, the Canadian magazine for clean capitalism, was announced in Davos, Switzerland.

Schneider Electric featured among the top three of the eight French firms that featured in the Global 100 list.

The 8th edition of the classification graded companies from all sectors of the economy in 22 countries.

Together, the businesses represent more than $3 trillion in turnover and employ more than five million people.

Following news of the classification, Christophe Campagne, country president of Schneider Electric in Saudi Arabia, said: “Schneider Electric’s ranking in the independent ‘Global 100 Most Sustainable Corporations’ list ratifies our position as a leader in sustainability and reassures us of our approach, which is based on innovative and creative thinking to promote sustainable business practice.”

Campagne added: “Furthermore, we aim to replicate our high standards across all regions and through our vast network of offices, manufacturing plants and sales offices, our operations in Saudi Arabia demonstrate a clear example of Schneider Electric’s best practice.”

Schneider Electric’s inclusion in the Global 100 list recognizes the group’s achievements in integrating sustainable development into its core strategy.

Its business offers solutions in energy efficiency, promotes production of clean energy and generates consumption practices that respect and preserve the environment.

Furthermore, it demonstrates a dynamic corporate social responsibility commitment, which is symbolized by its "Planet and Society Barometer" — a measurement tool set up in 2005 through which the company mobilizes all employees to further commit to sustainable development and shares the monitoring of action plans with partners.
