Prince Sultan described the ministry as the constituent member of the commission while highlighting cooperation between the two sides.

“The SCTA and the Ministry of Commerce and Industry serve a large community of consumers and investors as well as huge economic sectors,” he added.

Prince Sultan made this statement while meeting with Commerce and Industry Minister Tawfiq Al-Rabiah.

“I am delighted to hear the minister’s views on implementing the vision of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah and Crown Prince Naif in developing government sectors in line with the Kingdom’s huge economic growth,” he said.

The SCTA chief said the minister exuded a new spirit of cooperation, expressing his desire to complete official procedures as quickly as possible.

Prince Sultan congratulated Al-Rabiah, who was appointed commerce and industry minister two months ago, for winning the Saudi leadership’s confidence.

He disclosed SCTA’s plan to carry out a number of joint projects with the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, including the development of the exhibitions and conferences sector.

The prince said the sector would create a lot of job opportunities for Saudis. He stressed the need to establish a professional association for tourism, adding that it would encourage investors.

“During our meeting today we discussed a number of issues related to investors and consumers. We agreed to complete official procedures electronically and reduce the time for issuing licenses to tourism institutions,” the prince said.

Al-Rabiah commended SCTA’s efforts to boost domestic tourism. “The SCTA has made remarkable strides in boosting tourism in the Kingdom. It has dealt with the accommodation sector in a professional manner improving facilities for tourists.”

The minister noted the commission’s endeavors to retrieve and preserve the Kingdom’s antiquities. He pledged the ministry’s full support to the SCTA to develop the conferences and exhibitions sector. “We’ll back SCTA in all matters that serve the country,” he added.
