- The Movenpick Alkhobar is getting rave reviews these days.
- The 143-room elegantly done property opened its doors to local and international guests in September 2008, and has since then become a popular landmark in the Eastern Province.
Its General Manager Markus Marti is a Swiss national and a veteran of the hospitality industry. He has been with Movenpick Hotels and Resorts for more than two decades. He took over Movenpick Alkhobar in May last year, and has since then brought about subtle but unique changes to the way guests are treated and taken care of at a five-star hotel.
Marti is driven by the legendary Swiss passion to deliver the best of the hotel’s guests. “Ours is a trend-setting hotel with one of the finest Indian restaurants in the Kingdom,” he said, referring to Michelin-star consultant chef Vineet Bhatia’s ‘Maharaja.’ “Under the patronage of Chef Bhatia, you are assured of a royal repast with the most attentive service.”
Among the hotel’s highlights is “The Blue,” an international all-day dining restaurant. “We have recently introduced daily theme nights including the popular Arabian and French themes, and The Blue is getting very popular,” said Marti. “Then we have ‘The View’ which is an ideal place to unwind over a cup of coffee or your favorite refreshment.”
“We are delighted that our hotel is increasingly becoming the first choice of prominent families in the Kingdom and nearby countries when they are on a visit to the Eastern Province,” said Marti.
With 1,600 square meters, the hotel’s Al-Maha Ballroom is an elegant venue for conferences and business and family events. “It also offers six more conference rooms of varying sizes and capacity for meetings, he added.
Movenpick Hotels and Resorts have nine properties in the Kingdom and a portfolio of 100 operating and planned properties worldwide.
