- For the fourth year in a row, Fox Movies brings the 84th Academy Awards live to Middle East viewers.
- The biggest night in Hollywood will be back on the channel along with a whole host of special programming initiatives.
As part of the live programming, Fox Movies will cover the Red Carpet arrivals at 1 a.m. KSA/2 a.m. UAE; the 84th Academy Awards preshow at 3 a.m. KSA/4 .am. UAE and the Academy Awards Ceremony at 4:30 a.m. KSA / 5:30 a.m. UAE.
February is known as the “Month of the Oscars” on Fox Movies, and as part of the celebration, 27 of the best Academy Award-winning movies have aired throughout the month on the channel. These titles included first time and exclusive on free TV titles “The Duchess,” “The Reader,” as well as legendary Oscar winners such as “Titanic,” “Chicago,” “Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest,” “Up,” ‘The Incredibles” and “Finding Nemo,” among others.
This year for the first time, Fox Movies has produced and directed an Academy Awards pre-show, especially for the Middle East. Featuring popular Arab artist Ashraf Hamdy, the show provided the ultimate guide to the 84th Academy Awards with highlights of previous Awards ceremonies, best Oscar moments and predictions for this year’s ceremony. With a total of nine 30-minute episodes, the show aired every Friday and Saturday before the Oscar celebration movies this month.

No doubt we will surpass viewer expectations this year, too.”

The 84th Academy Awards will be broadcast live from Hollywood’s Kodak Theatre on February 27 from1 a.m. KSA/2 a.m. UAE.
A repeat broadcast will begin during primetime on Feb. 27, with the preshow at 4 p.m. KSA/5 p.m. UAE and the Academy Awards red carpet arrivals starting at 7 p.m. KSA/8 p.m. UAE.
