- A number of experts, local and international, attended the 7th International Cardiac Congress at the Dammam Sheraton.
- The conference was patronized and inaugurated by Eastern Province Gov.
The conference, organized by the Saud Al-Babtain Cardiac Center (SBCC), ran for two days and generated a huge response from the medical fraternity. Many well-known international institutions and organizations collaborated to make the conference a big success.
The organizers expressed thanks to Health Minister Dr. Abdullah Al-Rabeeah for his support and patronage.
Dr. Hamed Al-Omran, SBCC general director and congress president, said: “We made every effort to make it a truly international and fruitful conference. Our scientific committee decided very early on to focus on quality rather than quantity. The attendees had a rich experience at the workshops and the meetings.”
Prominent among those who were present at the event were Mansour Al-Hawasi, executive deputy of the Ministry of Health; Tariq Al-Salim, general director of health affairs in the Eastern Province; and Abdulwahab bin Saud Al-Babtain, member of SBCC board committee.
Many topics related to cardiology were discussed; they included heart failure, prevention and early detection, echo cardiography, integrated surgery, cardiac imaging in heart failure, benign and malignant cardiac tumors, anesthesia challenges for minimally invasive cardiac surgery; total artificial heart; and management of carotid disease.
