Consul General Faiz Ahmed Kidwai attended the function as chief guest, and he lauded the role of Indian engineers in Saudi Arabia. He advised the Indian Engineers Forum to come forward and create an environment for trade and bilateral relations between India and Saudi Arabia. Kidwai also released the ID cards for engineers of the forum.

Mohammad Sayeeduddin, president of the IEF Jeddah chapter, presided over the function. He advised Indian engineers to play a vital role in the development of Saudi Arabia, which would definitely help strengthen the relations between India and the Kingdom.

Anjum Iqbal, Muazzam Sayeed, Syed Mansoor and Ahtesham delivered lectures on different topics. On the role of Indian engineers in the Saudi economy, Iqbal, vice president of the forum, highlighted scope of work and projects for engineers in the Kingdom.

He advised engineers working in the Kingdom to learn Arabic, which helps improve their working environment, and advised them to work more for research and development work, which will benefit both countries.

Muazzam Sayeed, vice chairman of the IT subcommittee, explained the importance of certification courses for engineers and the benefits of the Six Sigma certification in particular.

Atiqur Rahman, general secretary of the IEF Jeddah, announced that the forum had planned to provide coaching for PMP preparation in April 2012 to the Indian and Saudi engineers, which was appreciated by the consul general.
