- JEDDAH: Saturday was largely positive for the Saudi stock market as it scored more than 106 points reflecting a positive start of the new week.
- The Tadawul All-Share Index (TASI) ended the day in the green at 7,481.27 points, up 1.44 percent, from its previous day close at 7,374.92 points.
Bulls continued to win the race and succeeded to boost liquidity further to SR13.4 billion, an increase of 10 percent for the day.
Commenting on the signs of bull market, Basil Kabbani of Zughaibi & Kabbani Financial Consultants, said: "A recent 14-day surge and heavy money flow at Tadawul are strong signs of bullishness which may prolong to help the market to recover from prior years losses."
The market leader SABIC (Saudi Basic Industries Corp.) intensified the liquidity at Tadawul by contributing SR1.2 billion, a 9.2 percent of overall turnover. It also dominated the performance among all large cap Saudi stocks, soared up 2.94 percent to close at 104.75 points. Tadawul total volume set sold about 550.93 million shares, a slight decline of 5.6 percent over the previous day.
All market cap indices showed more than one percent positive change and chased the movement of Tadawul index. Large cap with 1.52 percent growth was prominent to close at 4,981.78 points.
Sectoral performance was tremendous, as all sectors closed in green except Media and Publishing, which trimmed nominal 9.32 points or 0.35 percent for the day. Transport sector remained at top showing an increment of 164.62 points, or 4.2 percent to close at 4,079.64 points. Banks & Financial Services sector retrieved the lost points of previous day, showed a daily growth of 1.07 percent.
The market breadth was positive with advance-decline ratio of 8.6:1. Saudi Transport and Investment Company, United Cooperative Assurance Co. and Fitaihi Holding Group were key gainers and jumped over 9.8 percent for the day.
