Persistent rumors of a boycott have all been ruled out, but constant speculation over the continued involvement of scandal-tainted IOA president Suresh Kalmadi won’t go away.

The IOA is under scrutiny by the International Olympic Committee for keeping Kalmadi as its figurehead — even without executive powers — while he fights corruption allegations stemming from his role in the organizing committee of the 2010 Commonwealth Games.

The IOC executive board meets in Lausanne on Tuesday and Wednesday, and could refer Kalmadi’s situation to the ethics committee.
