More than 300 public and private customers, including Saudi Aramco, Saudi Electricity Company (SEC), Saudi Basic Industries Corporation (SABIC) and Marafiq, attended the seminar.

Customers represented government institutions, independent energy providers and key heavy manufacturing industries.

As a growth technology partner to the Kingdom, GE brought in regional and global experts to discuss advanced technology solutions, such as total plant optimization, designed to enable cleaner, smarter and more efficient operations at power plants.

The experts also showcased solutions and services, which aim to protect customer investment through the optimization of various systems and equipment.

The seminars also highlighted GE's advanced repair and service technologies, which are now being offered at GE's newest technology center in Saudi Arabia, the GE Energy Manufacturing Technology Center, located in Dammam.

More than 2,000 GE jobs will be created at the facility.

Today, GE supports the generation of half the Kingdom's electricity with over 500 GE turbines installed around at various sites around Saudi Arabia.

The near SR1 billion Dammam-based GE Energy Manufacturing Technology Center enables Saudi and regional customers to access the latest energy services right at their doorstep.

It is part of GE's ongoing commitment to the Kingdom, which started with the supply of turbo-machinery equipment for its first oil expedition in 1942.

That commitment continues today with over 800 GE employees in Saudi Arabia supporting the Kingdom's growth, and over eight energy technology centers delivering advanced energy technology and services, and customer training for the power, water and oil and gas.
