- Jeddah: A specialized criminal court yesterday began the trial of 18 terror suspects including 17 Saudis and a Nigerian, accused of being associated with Al-Qaeda and plotting to carry out explosions and killings in the Kingdom.
The cell members are also accused to financing terror, plotting to carry out terror attacks in Jeddah, possessing weapons, explosives and grenades and trying to undermine the Kingdom's security.
The public prosecutor also accused the 18 of sheltering criminals involved in a number of terror operations in Riyadh including those who killed a French man in Jeddah and another expatriate in the Eastern Province.
