- Abdullah Althaqafy, GM of the Department of Education, Jeddah, presented awards to some of the distinguished teachers from the city schools at a ceremony hosted by Saudi German Hospitals Group at Park Hotel Jeddah.
Officials and dignitaries including Sultan Batterjee from the SGH Group were among those present.
Althaqafy said the teaching community had a very important role in society, as our young children were the future citizens of the country. "I compliment the teachers for playing a vital role in shaping the young minds and preparing them to be responsible members of the society for a promising future," he added.
He emphasized the Ministry of Education's interest in and emphasis on teachers and their welfare, as well as the recognition they deserve. He also had a word of praise for the SGH group for its initiative in recognizing the contribution of teachers.
