The contests were part of SABIC’s program for social responsibility and its constant concern to provide ways of stimulating a creative educational environment for children.

Khaled Al-Sufayan, SABIC's corporate communications manager in the Eastern Province, pointed out that the program promoted a culture of innovation and supported creativity among children.

“We aim to contribute to building innovative capabilities for future generations and to encourage creative children to develop their talents,” Al-Sufayan said.

SABIC is keen to integrate its objectives and strategies into its surroundings and to be committed to high social values, and therefore has embarked since its inception on projects to deepen the link between society and environment.

Hatem Al-Maliki, head of the contest organizing committee, appreciated SABIC hosting and supporting the contests that attracted over 3,000 participants.

He said more than 55 schools took part in the contests. Among the contests' themes were promotion of home safety, health and conservation of natural resources.

“Such a contest is an effective and successful tool to refine the artistic talents of the students, which will positively impact their attitude and behavior," said Al-Maliki.

An exhibition of the winning entries was also inaugurated. It will be open to all at Al-Fanateer Mall from April 2-6.
