InterContinental captain Ismail Sati won the toss and elected to bat first. InterContinental compiled 157 runs for 7 wickets in 16 overs. Sadaqat top-scored with 46 runs including 2 sixes and 4 fours. Sati added 37 and Javed 23. Marriott’s bowler was not able to neutralize InterCont’s batting.

Marriott, captained by Saleem Khan, did not reach the target of 158, making 119 runs for 9 wickets in 16 overs. Shah Iqbal led Marriott with 49 runs including 4 sixes and 3 fours not out , while InterCon bowler Sati took 4 wickets.

The awarding ceremony followed the final match. Shah Iqbal of Marriott was adjudged Man of the Series and Sati Man of the Match.  Mohammed Fouzer Anver of Sheraton was named Best Batsman with 303 runs and the Most Sixes with 31, while Naveen Adaikalam claimed the Best Bowler award (19 wickets). The other awardees were Naved Akhtar (Sheraton Riyadh)  Most Catches at 9 and Abid Hussain (Novotel) got the Most Fours at 17.

The individual awardees received trophy plus gift items. The champion, 1st, 2nd and 3rd runners-up received trophies plus 15 medals for each team. All the prizes were donated by sponsor Gulf Central Co. Ltd. and Sheraton Riyadh Hotel & Towers.

Mohammed Bleik, F & B outlet manager of Sheraton Riyadh,  was among those who awarded the prizes.

The Sheraton Cricket Committee headed by Mohd. Ziard Sadikeen thanked all the participating teams with special mention of Felix Tessera of Four Seasons, Mohammed Azaam of Riyadh InterContinental, Mohammed Akram of Sheraton Riyadh and also the professional services of official umpires Tuan Shiras and Mohammed Imitiaz as well as the scorer Mohammed Arshak and Mohammed Saburdeen.

The tournament for the benefit of the children of UNICEF was hosted by Sheraton Riyadh Hotel & Towers with support from Gulf Central Co. Ltd. of Shafqat Ali Khan, director of Sales & Marketing, and Naseej Uniforms.

Meanwhile, the director general of InterContinental Riyadh, Tariq Duwaidar, congratulated the newly crowned Inter-Hotel cricket champions and appreciated their efforts for having clinched the championship despite fierce competition between participating teams.
