- UNESCO Director General Irina Bokova arrived here yesterday on a three-day official visit.
- She was received at the airport by Education Minister Prince Faisal bin Abdullah and senior officials.
Bokova will hold talks with a number of government officials and visit historic places in the country. Ambassadors of Palestine, France, Brazil, Germany, Poland and Zimbabwe, who are accredited to UNESCO, have also arrived to participate in various programs along with Bokova.
UNESCO recently hosted a Saudi Cultural Days event, which featured painting and traditional costume shows and folk dances by Saudi artists. Culture and Information Minister Abdul Aziz Khoja opened the event.
