The princess also conferred certificates on the graduates who obtained their doctorate, master’s and bachelor’s degrees.

Several prominent figures, including university President Huda Al-Ameel and Ghada Al-Motairy, member of the academic faculty of University of San Diego in California and PNU’s nanotechnology department, addressed the event.

On behalf of the graduates, Hana Al-Sinan thanked the university officials and the teaching staff for giving them an opportunity to join and secure graduation from the world’s largest university for women. A procession of students from different faculties was held on the occasion.

Addressing the gathering, Al-Ameel said this year’s graduation ceremony is the first of its kind on the university’s newly opened campus.

“The university represents a benchmark of responsibility in women’s education in the Kingdom, and hence it is our obligation to complete the march toward development initiated by King Abdullah. This is evident in the university’s keenness in concluding partnership agreements with a number of prestigious international universities for developing both academic programs and restructuring some faculties,” she said, adding that the university pursues curricula in line with the requirements of the employment market and introduced specialties that are not available at other Saudi universities.
