- Pakistan International School Jeddah (English Section) celebrated the election of its Principal Sehar Kamran on Monday.
Kamran expressed her gratitude to the distinguished guests and dignitaries that included Pakistan Consul General Abdul Salik Khan, UK Consul General Mohammad Shaukat, Abdul Hameed Opeloyero and Managing Editor of Urdu News Tariq Mishkhas.
The program started with the recitation of the Holy Qur’an followed by the speeches from deputy heads appreciating Sehar’s efforts and leadership.
They stressed on the principal’s long list of achievements and the fact that she led by example. They also said the principal gave them the firm belief to rise to every challenge with the motto “nothing is impossible.”
The program included a presentation by the PISJ-ES staff on Kamran’s achievements and her oath taking in the Pakistan Senate.
Kamran in her address said: “I am grateful to the president of Pakistan for his trust and for giving me this opportunity to represent my country from the platform of the Senate, and I took the oath with the commitment to come true to the trust and serve my beloved Pakistan with devotion and dedication.
“Being a member of the Senate I have national obligations, but at the same time I cannot ignore my responsibilities toward the Pakistani community in Saudi Arabia and will use my position for the betterment of our community and for promoting my country.”
She added: “With this institution I have strong bonds, any I will justify it by all means. Educating and grooming our future generation is a noble cause, and serving this cause is a passion for me, I am thankful to the president of Pakistan for allowing me to continue with this school.”
Kamran also appreciated Pakistan Ambassador Mohammad Naeem Khan for all his efforts. She said she was fortunate to have his full support. She also expressed her gratitude to Mishkhas and said he has always been very much a part of PISJ and a very sincere and supportive person. She presented a tribute to Akmal Saeed, the former link officer of the school, for his very sincere support and inspiring guidance.
Abdul Salik Khan said: “I congratulate Mrs. Sehar Kamran and I extend my fullest support for her responsibilities as a parliamentarian. Whatever we can do, we will do to assist her in every way. I know she will use her energies to help overseas Pakistanis and perform her responsibilities as a parliamentarian with credit.”
Shaukat said: “Sen. Mrs. Sehar Kamran has not only taken responsibility to ensure that students of PISJ-ES are tomorrow’s leaders but has also taken the greatest honor that anybody can have serving the country. Heartiest congratulations for that and I wish you all the best in taking all that forward.”
Opeloyero said: “Mrs. Sehar Kamran has exhibited leadership qualities. On behalf of my colleagues and the OIC I congratulate her and the school staff for this achievement. She’s a good leader and her students are very happy with her and she’s an illuminating flame.”
Tariq Mishkhas said: “I have known Mrs. Sehar for many years and I have seen how the school has progressed under her leadership and guidance. I am sure she will achieve more in the Senate. In fact the students are privileged to have her as a role model. To her the Senate is a new challenge and I wish her all the best in this challenge and she will succeed. It’s just the beginning.”
