- Riyadh: Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah has approved the upgrading of status of 18 regions in the Kingdom from B to A.
- The king’s order also elevates 28 village centers in grade A category to the category of regions in grade B.
The crown prince said that the new initiative aims at accelerating the balanced growth and development of all regions in the Kingdom in all spheres of life as well as improving the services being extended to both citizens and foreigners.
King Abdullah’s order is in line with the recommendations of a comprehensive study, carried out by the Ministry of Interior in coordination with the governors of the provinces, the Saudi Press Agency reported yesterday.
