Wasil’s popularity stems from the fact he displayed his artworks worldwide. He took part in solo and collective exhibitions hosted in China, Rome, London, Egypt, Syria, Jordan, Kuwait, Senegal, Bahrain, Qatar, Lebanon, Iran, Sudan and Tunisia.

Though many local artists prefer oil paints as a medium, Wasil sees iron and other solid materials as a rich medium for local artists to bring about new modes of contemporary arts. As with many artists, Wasil is influenced by his surroundings and the happenings of the world around him, with a particular focus on humans and human emotions.

He got his first gold medal in the GCC universities cultural week hosted at King Fahd University for Petroleum and Minerals some time back. He received other awards from local and international institutions.

Wasil pointed out that there are numerous verses in Holy Qur’an that illustrate the wondrous diversity with which God has created mankind in terms of shapes, sizes, colors, characters, ability and talent.

Presently, he is a member of a number of art societies, namely The Plastic Artist Home, the Association of Culture and The Arts, Saudi Society of Fine Arts and the Global Foundation for the Arts, in the United States of America.

He currently holds the position of  the director of the Arts and Culture Department in Makkah region.
