Kuwait’s Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah will attend the opening event of the forum.

“Prince Khaled is being honored in recognition of the prince’s initiatives and contributions to the cultural, intellectual and humanitarian activities in the Arab world. Besides, the prince is the founder and president of the Arab Thought Foundation (ATF),” Madi Al-Khamees, secretary gen. of the forum’s organizing committee, said in a press statement on Saturday.

Prince Sultan bin Faisal will receive the honor on behalf of Prince Khaled.

In a cable of thanks to the forum’s organizers the prince said the honor is a matter of pride to him.

The prince added in the message that he was prompted by his realization of the need to develop the culture in the Arab world so that this could be invested in the development of knowledge, science and technology.

This recognition follows another award to the prince last week from the Arab-American Institute in Washington.

It was an international commitment prize for the prince’s efforts through the ATF and also in appreciation of the foundation’s initiatives such as cultural dialogues, cultural conferences and reports apart from its commitment to the development of Arabic learning and publication of translations.
