Aaqil Imthiyaz Yaseen, a student at the British International School in Riyadh, bagged the Championship of International Speech and Table Topics contests conducted by the Toastmasters Division A and B joint conference held at the Riyadh Palace Hotel on Friday.

The 14-year-old student mesmerized the audience with his oratorial skills and became the Champion in International Speech following his presentation on "Use it, do not abuse it," which was focused on the value of time management.

Yaseen became the Champion of Table Topics (Impromptu Speaking) for the second consecutive year. He represented Serendib Gavel Club Riyadh at the prize-winning contests. Yaseen is the grandson of former Chief Education Officer in Sri Lanka late S.H.M. Yaseen, who had been the president of the All-Ceylon Muslim Teachers Association in Colombo.

Toastmasters International is a world leader in communication and leadership development with a total membership of 270,000 people around the globe.

The members develop their speaking and leadership skills by attending one of the 13,000 clubs that make up Toastmasters global network of meeting locations.

Serendib Gavel Club is an affiliation of Toastmasters International targeting youths in the Kingdom. It is the first registered gavel club in Saudi Arabia.
