With it, Ebsar Academy for Recruitment and Training that aims to recruit 1,200 people would be founded. 

The announcement came during Ebsar’s ninth regular meeting recently. It was stressed that the economic factor, by reducing poverty, is essential for the sustainability of solutions for the disabled in general.

Muhammad Tawfiq Balo, the foundation’s secretary-general and member of the Ministry of Labor’s Tawafuq Program, said Prince Talal expressed hopes that the two initiatives would be implemented in cooperation with businessmen, to ensure a joint effort to combat unemployment. The foundation launched a program for the training and recruitment of the visually impaired in cooperation with Jasara Training Center and a number of companies. Now there are 250 visually disabled beneficiaries of the foundation enrolled in the program. It include people above 18 years old, who were either unable to get jobs after they obtained their qualifications or who lost their jobs because of their partial or complete visual disability. They will be trained to acquire administrative-support skills to occupy positions including phone operator, receptionist, administrative clerk, office coordinator, information and public relations agent, marketing and sales agent. These occupations were defined based on the foundation’s surveys among visually impaired people who had a job, he said, adding that the programs would be expanded in the next few years to provide more job opportunities.

Balo said that the program would fulfill part of Tawafuq program, which aims to put in place a strategy that includes the policies, regulations and legislations for the recruitment of disabled people.

The foundation has approached 1,500 visually impaired people whose information is registered at Ebsar Center for Statistical Studies to apply for the program.
