Given Renault’s status as the leader amongst European brands in the Kingdom, Carlos Tavares, chief operating officer of Renault, presented GAA, exclusive distributor of Renault in the Kingdom since 2010, with an award for making Renault the first European Brand in the Kingdom.
“It is a privilege to accept this honor from the Renault COO himself,” said Ahmed Bahwan.
He added: “I would like to express my gratitude for this recognition and the commitment of Renault to succeed in the Kingdom.”
He said: “The vision to provide the customers in the Kingdom with quality vehicles from Renault backed up by high levels of after sales service from our side has been instrumental in driving the sales of Renault vehicles in the Kingdom.”
The ceremony took place in the Renault showroom on Madinah Road, Jeddah.
Since GAA’s appointment in 2010, Renault has registered sales of over 14,000 vehicles in Saudi Arabia. In 2012, Gulf Advantage Automobile achieved 7,005 units Renault sales, a 22 percent sales growth compared to 2011 which has been even higher than the evolution of the Saudi market which has grown by 17 percent in 2012.
Divyendu Kumar, managing director of GAA, said: “The commendable success achieved by Gulf Advantage Automobile is extremely encouraging. We have sold over 14,000 vehicles through 76 touch points across KSA since July 2010.”
Divyendu Kumar said: “It was a challenge but with passion and dedication of all our employee and our commitment to offer a state of the art customer experience to all Renault owners in the Kingdom this was possible.”
He said: “We are very optimistic about the potential of the Renault brand in the Kingdom. The recently launched the all-new 2013 Renault Fluence is one of our most successful cars in the said market.”
