The Second Saudi Pakistan Accountancy Seminar will be held at Sheraton Hotel, Riyadh, on March 20 from 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
This is on the back of last year’s successful event which saw the participation of more than 175 professionals.
The theme for the seminar this year is “Global Challenges, Local Solutions — Accounting to the Rescue”.
The seminar is being organized by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan (ICAP) KSA chapter, operating under the patronage of the Embassy of Pakistan in the Kingdom and with support from Saudi Organization for Certified Public Accountants (SOCPA).
Speakers include Muhammad Naeem Khan, Ambassador of Pakistan to Saudi Arabia, Ahmad Almeghames, secretary general of SOCPA and Ahmad Saeed, president of ICAP.
Other eminent speakers include Kashif Rana, CFO of Acwa Power, Steve Drake, partner PwC, Ehsan Makhdoum, partner Deloitte, Fahas Al-Toaimi, partner Ernst & Young, and Ebrahim Baeshen, partner KPMG.
The panel session will be moderated by Taha Ali Khan, controller at Al-Jomaih Automotive and Asher Noor, CFO AlTouq Group.
It will see eminent speakers talk in a very interactive style on the impact of convergence of Saudi standards to IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards) and its impact on companies, audit firms and accountants and finance professionals in general.
Amin Qureshi, president of ICAP KSA chapter, is expected to highlight the new challenges faced by the profession in his speech.
The seminar will be moderated by Aakif Hasnat with a final vote of thanks by Muhammad Asif Iqbal, secretary, ICAP KSA Chapter.
