During the MWC 2013 held in Barcelona, Spain, Saudi Telecom Company (STC) signed a partnership deal with Opera Software in which the latter will provide its Opera Mini browser that supports all mobile phones to ensure them high quality and exceptional browsing experience within the package provided by STC to its customer base in Saudi Arabia.
STC's Vice President for Personal Services Ibrahim Al-Omar said: "STC is always anxious to provide the latest solutions and any operating systems to smart phone customers combined with the best Internet and data exchange experience through its solid wireless networking infrastructure. With Opera Mini Browser customers will be able to compress websites by 90 percent reducing navigation movement to operators to a considerable limit." Al-Omar said.
Opera Software CEO Lars Boilesen said: "Opera provides, with more than 200 million monthly users of mobile opera software, the best mobile Internet experience to all categories of users. By signing this agreement with STC, we are about to actualize this vision."
Opera Mini can be downloaded off Google Play and Appstore.
In the context of the increasing demand on the broadband services, STC carries out a 3G network coverage extending to major Saudi cities and provides the advanced 4G LTE for the first time in the MENA driven by a strategy providing the best and the most cost-effective services to customers.
