SHARM EL-SHEIKH, Egypt: Arab leaders are meeting in a key summit in the Egyptian Red Sea resort of Sharm el-Sheikh, days after a Saudi-led, 10-nation alliance began a campaign of airstrikes against Houthi terrorists and their allies in Yemen.

Saturday’s summit was preceded by a meeting between Custodian of Two Holy Mosques King Salman of Saudi Arabia, Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah El-Sissi and Yemen’s President Abed Raboo Mansour Hadi.

Hadi fled the Yemeni port city of Aden earlier this week in the face of a military push by the Houthis, also known as the Houthis, and their allies, forces loyal to his ousted predecessor Ali Abdullah Saleh.

Of the Arab League’s 22 heads of state, 14 were in attendance on Saturday as the meeting began.
