Saudi Amad for Airport Services and Air Transport Support (SAAS) has clarified that it is a Saudi limited liability company specialized in airport transportation services. SAAS was established in 2013 as a joint venture project between Al-Amad Commerce, a Saudi company, and Saudi Ground Services Company (SGS).
“To ensure providing the best and the highest standards of services to airline companies and to passengers, SGS has established SAAS as a specialized company to manage and operate all means of transportation and light and heavy equipment, in addition to providing transportation services inside and outside the airports’ ramps at all major airports around the Kingdom,” a press release said.
SAAS is equally owned by SGS and by Al-Amad Commerce. The company said it had been agreed to appoint representatives from SGS in the board of directors and to appoint the chairman of SGS as the chairman of Saudi Amad.
To ensure compliance of corporate governance, the company said it has increased the number of its board members by appointing independent members and establishing an internal audit committee that includes independent members.
“It is worth mentioning (that) none of the former and current members of the board of directors of Saudi Amad company from SGS nor the former chairman of the board of directors, Saleh bin Nasser Al-Jasser, nor the current chairman of the board of directors, Abdullah bin Ibrahim Al-Howaish, have shares in the company,” the company said.
