Saudi security forces undergo inspection on Tuesday, August 29, 2017, ahead of their deployment for the Hajj pilgrimage.
The commander of the second special security forces, Maj. Gen. Fahd bin Nasser al-Osaimi, confirmed the readiness of the special security forces in securing more pilgrims participating in this year’s Hajj.
Major General Mansour Al-Turki, Interior ministry spokesman, told a press conference that more than two million pilgrims are performing their “journey of a lifetime.”
Of the total, 1.73 million are from abroad. Al-Turki said that 400,000 people from inside Saudi Arabia had been refused access to the holy sites for the Hajj because they did not have the necessary permits.
