Mahd Al-Uloom International School recently hosted its 10th Annual Sports Meet dubbed “Athleo ‘18” in Jeddah.

Principal Dr. Firoz Mullah welcomed the guests and students. The sports meet was declared open by the chief guest Abdurabb, director of the school, with a beacon-lighting ceremony.

The entire stadium was filled with jubilant children dressed in sports attire. A well-coordinated march-past by the contingents of the four houses — Emerald, Ruby, Sapphire and Topaz — led by their captains kick-started the event.

Operations Manager Yahya Khaleel Noorani presided over the function. He urged the students to maintain a balance between sports and academics.  Students impressed the audience with a human pyramid formation and flower display.

A number of track and field events were held, including races, high jump, long jump, football, tug of war, sack race and much more.

Topaz house won the day, scoring maximum points, while the Emerald house was declared the runners-up. Nihad Noushad and Naswif Noushad won individual championship in the junior and senior categories, respectively.

Sports Secretary Mansoor C.K. proposed the vote of thanks and briefed the students about the importance of physical training and sports.
