Bin-Shihon Group is celebrating 50 years of its partnership with Korean company Hankook Tire this year.
Vice President of Bin-Shihon Group Marwan bin-Shihon said: “We appreciate our extraordinary and fruitful relationship that has extended over the years with Hankook Tire. We believe that this partnership, which is a result of shared mutual respect, vision and goals, has produced extraordinary results and exceptional returns that have further strengthened our relationship.”
Bin-Shihon Group is a Saudi-based business conglomerate, which has investments in different sectors such as real estate, household, batteries and lubricants, tires, construction, industrial products and more. It was founded by Mohammed bin-Shihon in 1950.
“The partnership of Bin-Shihon and Hankook Tire started back in 1969. With more than 22 percent market share, Bin-Shihon Group is today the No.1 tire dealer in the Kingdom. The biggest agent of Hankook Tire in the world, it is also its oldest,” said Adeel Naeem, Bin-Shihon Group’s marketing manager.
“Today, the tire division is the largest of the Bin-Shihon Group of companies and is the largest tire dealer in the Kingdom. Through the founder’s vision, the Bin-Shihon Group gained its reputation as an astute investment corporation,” Naeem added.
Haekang Kim, head of global public relations at Hankook Tire, said Bin-Shihon and Hankook Tire have a long history together.
“I have been working with Hankook Tire for almost 10 years now and from the start I have been working closely with the Bin-Shihon Group. It started out as a partnership but now — because we’ve been working together for 50 years — it is more than a partnership, we’re more of a family,” she said.
Kim added: “We’re very happy to meet each other and discuss what we do. They always give us great ideas on what should be done in Saudi Arabia. We couldn’t have asked for a better family. They’re really great people, we’re very happy and we’re very lucky to have their friendship and partnership.”
