RIYADH: The Saudi Sport Marketing Association (SSMA) and the Professional Association for Statisticians and Data Scientists (PASDS) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to facilitate statistical, financial and economic analysis in sports through the production and dissemination of data. This will be done through joint events, courses, activities and workshops in the fields of statistics and sport analysis as well as the use of statistics software packages, modern programming languages, and preparation and publication of statistical reports and consultations.

The agreement was signed by Dr. Talal Al-Maghrabi, chairman of SSMA; and Dr. Faisal Al-Sharabi, chairman of PASDS.

The MoU aims to coordinate and capitalize on the potential assets of the two organizations, along with the expertise of their members, in order to support their efforts to promote community work for Saudi youths.

The agreement also covers the provision of analytical and statistical services to clubs and sports federations and their subordinates in applications of data science, financial and economic feasibility studies and quantitative financial analysis.

SSMA chairman Dr. Al-Maghrabi said the agreement will have a major impact on the provision of the best services to the beneficiaries and trainees of the association in light of Vision 2030.

PASDS chairman Dr. Al-Sharabi said the agreement will support the activities of the two associations and serve the interests of the country. He said the agreement will augment the role of the PASDS and boost its programs to achieve the objectives of Vision 2030. 

Dr. Al-Sharabi said the partnership will reflect positively on the sustainability of the association’s programs and deliver the best services to those interested in statistics studies and data analytics in Saudi sports.  He thanked SSMA and its staff, particularly Dr. Al-Maghrabi, for their sincere efforts and support in the signing of the agreement.
