Tamimi Markets has announced the opening of its Umluj supermarket on the shores of the Red Sea. The store — located at Umluj Square — was inaugurated in the presence of the head of the municipal council Dr. Abdul Aziz Al-Johani. The retail plaza features popular eateries such as Al-Baik and McDonald’s along with other famous retail brands, creating an ideal shopping destination for both locals and tourists while enjoying Umluj, often dubbed as the “Maldives of Saudi Arabia.”
In keeping with this picturesque tourist area, Tamimi Markets’ Umluj store sports a stylish and contemporary décor that pays tribute to Saudi Arabia’s rich culture and heritage. Special deals to mark the opening are found throughout the store for shoppers to discover and enjoy.
In line with its expansion plans in the western region of Saudi Arabia, the new Umluj store is Tamimi’s seventh branch in the province, with many more to follow soon. Tamimi Markets now has 74 supermarket locations nationwide along with 12 cafes.
The supermarket chain is known for its focus on fresh foods. “At Tamimi Markets, you’ll not only find many of your favorite items at great prices but also discover the colors and flavors of the world in one convenient shop,” said Abdulaziz Tamimi, CEO of Tamimi Markets.
“Our Healthy Living section features an impressive range of natural, organic, gluten-free and overall ‘good for you’ products that will appeal to the many health-conscious families enjoying the Red Sea destination,” he added.
The new Umluj store boasts a number of innovative features such as the “Click and Collect” service, which allows customers to shop online for thousands of products and pick up their order from the store whenever it is convenient for them. “Tamimi’s ‘Click and Collect’ is ideal for families picking up snacks and supplies for a fun day at the beach,” the chief executive added.
Online shoppers can order at www.shop.tamimimarkets.com, or on their smartphone by downloading Tamimi’s app from the Apple App Store or GooglePlay.
“There are many fresh innovations to see and explore at our new store,” said Bobby Rajendran, general manager of Tamimi Markets. “For example, our Umluj branch features fresh bulk foods by Miros, an attractively priced, high-quality souq filled with popular dried fruits, nuts and spices. Miros also offers time-saving prepackaged products for those in a hurry.”
“Shoppers really appreciate Tamimi Markets’ high standards of quality, cleanliness and friendly service, and we have also earned a solid reputation for great value,” added Rajendran. “Our ‘Tamimi Markets since 1979’ brand will help shoppers save even more.”
The store’s “Themari” loyalty program is free to join and offers cash-back rewards to shoppers by awarding points on purchases and exclusive deals for loyalty members.
“Plus our exclusive brands offer great value. These include Safeway from the US (Signature Select, O Organic and Lucerne), Costco (Kirkland Signature), and Sainsbury’s from the UK,” said Rajendran.
Tamimi Markets is one of the Kingdom’s fastest-growing supermarket chains. “We are a Saudi family, proudly serving the families of Saudi Arabia with fresh, safe and healthy foods — and a smile, for over 40 years,” said CEO Tamimi. “We look forward to proudly serving this Red Sea community for many years to come” he added.
The new store in Umluj, like all Tamimi branches, is open 24/7 to serve its growing family of shoppers.
