Global luxury vehicle manufacturer Lexus has expressed its pride in participating in the Saudi Cup — the world’s richest horse race — as a platinum partner.
This year’s edition hosted the Obaiya Arabian Classic Group 2, presented by Lexus, with a prize of $2 million. Hadi De Carrere, ridden by Olivier Peslier and owned by Khalifa bin Sheail Al-Kuwari, won the race and was crowned by Raad Al-Saady, vice president of mobility at Abdul Latif Jameel Motors, the official distributor of Lexus in the Kingdom.
Al-Saady expressed his happiness at Abdul Latif Jameel Motors’ presence as a platinum partner of the global event, which he said has now firmly established its position at the very forefront of the world’s annual horse racing calendar and is also one of the key social and sporting occasions on the growing agenda of events in the Kingdom.
Al-Saady said that Lexus’ participation in this event arises from their great faith in and support for the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 and its programs that aim to improve the quality of life for individuals and families and engage them in cultural, entertainment and sports activities.
Visitors and guests at the Saudi Cup had the opportunity to experience the iconic automotive design and luxury of Lexus LX600 and discover the distinctive styling and dynamic performance of the Lexus LC 500.
The two-day international racing festival, held at the King Abdulaziz Racecourse in Riyadh, on Feb. 25-26, offered high-quality racing featuring a mix of the world’s best horses and jockeys, alongside locally bred and featured talent, with the participation of 16 countries and 240 horses.
On the second day, at the end of the races, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman presented the coveted Saudi Cup to home-owned and trained Emblem Road.
