- Delegates will discuss issues such as future of healthcare, technology
JEDDAH: The 10th International Nursing Conference, organized by the King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Center, opened in Jeddah on Monday.
The 3-day event, with the theme “Nurses: As Catalysts, Navigators & Innovators in Healthcare,” will include a range of presentations, discussion sessions and workshops.
Delegates will consider the role of technology and innovation in the future of healthcare, as well as issues like sustainability and nurse recruitment and retention.
At the start of the event it was announced that the nursing residency program at the hospital had become the first outside the US to be accredited by the American Nursing Credentialing Center.
It was also announced that the hospital had become the first non-academic health institution outside the US to achieve membership of Sigma Theta Tau, the international honor society for nurses.
Membership gives the hospital’s employees access to a vast amount of scientific resources and nursing practices from around the world to help them improve the care they provide to patients.
The King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Center is considered one of most distinguished organizations in the medical, research and education fields in both Saudi Arabia and the region.
