RIYADH: Saudi Arabia's Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan received a phone call from US Secretary of State Antony Blinken on Friday.

During the call, they discussed regional and international issues of common concern, most notably the developments in the Gaza Strip, and the efforts made to deal with security and humanitarian repercussions of Israeli actions in the enclave.

Blinken was also set to meet with Turkish foreign minister Hakan Fidan in Washington on Friday.

Ahead of the meeting, he said it was up to Hamas to agree to a ceasefire that would allow more humanitarian aid into Gaza and pave the way for talks on an “enduring resolution” to the conflict.
