RAMALLAH: Following US intervention, Israeli occupation authorities on Wednesday evening reversed their decision and allowed Vice President Hussein Al-Sheikh entry to the occupied West Bank city of Bethlehem to attend Christmas Eve mass.

The occupation authorities initially prohibited Vice President Hussein Al-Sheikh from entering Bethlehem to attend the midnight Christmas Mass at the Church of the Nativity, barring his motorcade from entering the city.

Al-Sheikh has been assigned by President Mahmoud Abbas to attend the midnight mass, which will be celebrated by His Beatitude Card. Patriarch Pierbattista Pizzaballa, Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem, at the Church of Saint Catherine, followed by the procession to the Grotto of the Nativity.
