Tunisia buys about 25,000 metric tons feed barley in tender, traders say

HAMBURG: Tunisia’s state grains agency is believed to have purchased ​about 25,000 metric tons of animal feed barley in an international tender on Friday, European traders said.
The barley was said to have been ‌bought in ‌one ​consignment at ‌an ⁠estimated $265.45 ​a ton ⁠cost and freight (c&f) included from trading house Ameropa.
Reports reflect assessments from traders and further estimates of prices and volumes ⁠are still possible later.
If ‌sourced ‌from the Black ​Sea, ‌east Europe or Mediterranean regions, ‌shipment is sought between May 25 and June 5.
From west Europe shipment is ‌between May 20 and May 30. From the ⁠United ⁠States, Canada and South America, shipment is between May 15 and May 25.
In its previous barley tender on February 12, Tunisia purchased 50,000 tons at the lowest price of $276.90 ​a ​ton cost and freight (c&f).
