JEDDAH: Al-Ahli club President Abdul Aziz Al-Angari Sunday night unveiled the new club logo that Ahli football team will use in the new professional league.

The new club logo is very much similar to the old one except that a new color has been added to the famous green and white, which is dark blue. The name of the club is written in both Arabic and English and the logo is specified for the football club only.

Al-Angari said the logo change was in line with the decision of the professional football championship committee of the General Presidency of Youth Welfare to have the clubs use new logos for the upcoming season. Ahli club was the first to change its logo for the professional football tournament.

Al-Angari said that influential honorary members of the club approved the new logo and that a specialized logo design international company did the job for Ahli. Al-Angari said, “The logo is specialized for the football team only. We made sure that the two swords and the palm are included in the logo in addition to the famous King’s cup. The old logo will be for the rest of the games at the club. There will be a special company that will take care of the Ahli football team uniform.”

Abdullah Al-Hussaini, investment representative at the club, said that it is important to separate football from the rest of the teams at the club.

Ahli club fans approved the new move by the club management although some of them were not happy with the new color addition. An Ahli club fan said that the new color might have been forced on the club. He said, “If the color is introduced then it should be minor dots and I hope that it is invisible in the uniform. Ahli has always been green and white and it should remain like this forever.”
