As part of its broader corporate social responsibility (CSR) objective of promoting education and skills development among the youth, Electronic & Electrical Industries Corporation (EEIC) hosted a group of senior electrical engineering students from King Faisal University at its premises recently.

The ambitious students were accompanied by their Professor Mohamed Shwehdi as they were taken on a tour of the EEIC Plant located in the 2nd Industrial Area of Dammam.

EEIC, a subsidiary of Abunayyan Holding, specializes in manufacturing and providing customized medium voltage and low voltage power, and automation solutions for industrial infrastructure by way of its wide range of licensed products and services.

The visit therefore was geared toward familiarizing the students with the manufacturing processes of industrial electrical equipment while simultaneously giving them the hands-on experience of the operational and testing procedures in place.

Ahmed Al-Beheri, product marketing manager of the company, explained: “Too often students are taught only theory in classrooms without much of an idea of how that knowledge is implemented until they enter the job market. We invited students from KFU so as to bridge this gap and show them around our plant to help them absorb engineering concepts better as well as get an idea of how a real manufacturing plant works. We hope the visit was as good an experience for them as it was for us.”

“We hope to have many more such events as we continue to actualize EEIC’s CSR strategy to ensure we have a positive impact on all our stakeholders, including the community at large, of which young Saudi students make up the majority,” Muntaser Kalahji, CEO of the company, said hinting at future CSR plans of the company.
