Retail major LuLu Group has opened a new hypermarket in Jubail Industrial City in the Eastern Province.

Jubail Gov. Badr bin Mohammed Al-Otaishan inaugurated the new store in the presence Prince Saud bin Abdullah and Fahad Al-Muqbil. Officials from government departments, representatives of local business community and prominent citizens were among the invitees.

LuLu’s MD Yusuff Ali M.A., CEO Saifee T. Rupawala, Executive Director Ashraf Ali M.A., Director Althaf M.M., Regional Director-Central Province Shehim Mohammed, Regional Director-Eastern Province Muhamed Basheer, and other senior officials of LuLu Group were present.

Residents crowded the hypermarket to grab inaugural offers. The new hypermarket, which is the 5th in the Kingdom, is located on King Faisal Street in the Jubail industrial hub.

The new hypermarket offers over 240,000 square feet of international standard shopping experience and showcases a fresh food section comprising fruit, vegetables, dairy products, meat and fish, and a huge department store, which includes high fashion garments, electronics, IT products and home appliances.

The hypermarket also houses Sparkys for family entertainment, international jewelry chains like Malabar Gold and Joy Alukkas, Giordano for fashion ware, food court consisting of Indian, Arabic and Filipino cuisine, fast food counters, coffee shops, and outlets for perfumes, watches, cosmetics, gifts and accessories, and ATM and money exchanges.

"We are very clear in our approach to expansion in the Kingdom and I am very confident that this great country will further prosper under the visionary leadership of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman and Crown Prince Muqrin," said Ali. The Kingdom will see seven more hypermarkets coming up in the next 22 months at various locations, Dammam being the next in line for opening, he added.

"Providing job opportunities to local youth is one of our core focus areas," Ali said.
