Al-Meera opens Al-Wakrah 2 branch

In line with its slogan, Your Favorite Neighborhood Retailer, Al-Meera Consumer Goods Company (QSC) opened its newest branch in Al-Wakrah, marking the 44th addition to the successful supermarket chain. The new branch adheres to international standards of construction and decor to provide customers with a convenient shopping experience.
The 2,470 sqm Al-Wakrah 2 branch constitutes 1,926 sqm of supermarket area. The store offers shoppers a wide variety of food and non-food related items as well as fresh products. The branch includes a butchery, fishery, delicatessen, fruits and vegetables area and bakery to answer to the consumers’ various daily needs at very competitive prices. The branch will feature an array of shops and restaurants that are set to open soon.
The new branch boasts state-of-the-art elements similar to all its other new outlets in Qatar.
Mohammed Nasser Al-Qahtani, deputy CEO of Al-Meera Consumer Goods Company, performed the opening ceremony in the presence of Mohammed Ibrahim Al-Sulaiti, board member, Saeed M. Al-Nabet, administration affairs manager, and Khalid Al-Jassim, safety and security manager, along with other heads of directorates.
Al-Qahtani said: “The opening of the Al-Wakrah 2 branch comes as a result of the massive growth witnessed by Al-Wakrah.”
Indicative of its expansion plan to serve all areas in Qatar, since the beginning of 2105, Al Meera has opened seven stores in Muaither, Al-Azizia, Muraikh, the Gulf Mall, Thakhira, Jeryan Njeima and Al-Wakrah 2.
Al-Meera is now set to launch three more branches this year in Al-Thumama, Al-Wajba and Rawdat Ekdeem.
Al-Meera plans to establish two additional branches, in Al-Jamiliyah and Al-Shamal.
Al Meera received a number of awards during 2015. The company also received the ISO 9001:2008 certification, for the activities of the commercial department, from Bureau Veritas Certification Holding SAS-UK Branch.
