Major global renal care provider Diaverum announced the opening of its very first renal care clinic in Makkah for the treatment of kidney disease
The world-class medical facility can treat up to 120 patients per week with renal failure through high-level, personalized treatment plans and allow them to undertake their pilgrimage with ease and convenience without having to go too far for treatment.
In line with the company’s patient-focused approach and commitment to offering the highest quality of service, the new clinic boasts state-of-the-art renal treatment equipment, a pharmacy, laboratory, and a screening facility that will serve residents and pilgrims alike and allowing the facility to act as a one stop shop for all of its patients’ needs.
Ziyad Kabli, Middle East MD at Diaverum, said: “Our patients are of the utmost importance to us. This is why we are very proud to open our clinic in Makkah, which will enable renal patients to travel freely and help them fulfill their dreams of making the sacred pilgrimage.”
He added: “Since 2013, when the Ministry of Health awarded us a five-year contract to care for 5,000 renal patients across the country, we have opened 18 medical facilities to help meet the demand for kidney disease where prevalence rates are some of the highest in the world.”
Diaverum has been operating in the Kingdom since 2011, and currently has 132 doctors looking after 1,777 patients across the country. The new opening in Makkah is an important milestone in the health care provider’s drive to run up to 30 clinics by the end of 2016.
Dr. Ali Alharbi, country medical director, said: “Renal patients need to get dialysis three times a week. Earlier, they were unable to go on Haj or Umrah as they did not have access to suitable care in the vicinity.”
